The National Fire Department, through the Central Directorate for Emergency, Office for Water Risk Management and for the specialty of Divers CRASS, is evaluating the possibility of using autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) in their operational contexts. Currently, their highly technological equipment is based on more traditional and extremely effective and reliable search systems.
The new unmanned technologies could be complementary, not necessarily substitutive, to those available to them, but at the same time, they could bring significant operational advantages. During these two days, Graal Tech is proud to have been able to interact with the National Fire Department and demonstrate its Unmanned systems in a real environment during underwater operations.
We must particularly thank to Naval Support and Experimentation Centre CSSN (which hosts the National Hub for the Underwater Dimension PNS). It allowed the Fire Department personnel to witness real tests that Graal Tech is conducting on behalf of Fincantieri. We thank MacArtney Italy S.r.L., which, as a supplier of underwater systems for the Fire Department, created the link that enabled this very interesting dialogue with Graal Tech. We emphasize once again the importance of the collaboration of all the aforementioned entities.
